You must obtain a Provisional LGV Licence.
You must have passed the LGV theory test.

What's Next

1. Once you have received your Medical and Application Forms, your next step is to arrange a Medical, this can be with any Doctor. You then need to complete the D2 Application Forms, ensuring that you tick box ‘C’. Next send all the forms with your current driving licence and relevant fee to the DVLA, quoting the correct postcode as shown on the Application Form. You should receive your Provisional Licence within about 1 week.
2. Now you can contact us on the most appropriate number to arrange an assessment. Assessments are without obligation, but they are important as they enable us to tell you exactly how many days tuition you will need so that you get value for money and also enough days to pass 1st time.
3. After your assessment your instructor will discuss with you the drive as well as the type of courses we have available. He will explain the Theory and hazard perception test, how long the tests take and where you can take them.
4. Once you are ready to please contact us on the most appropriate number so we can proceed with your tuition and testing . Have in mind the date and place you wish to take your Theory test.  All theory test are now same day results with the result being given to you within about 10 minutes of finishing the test. Your Instructor will have explained to you that you need to pass the Theory test BEFORE you take the driving test. However, whilst you can start your driver training at any time we recommend that you pass your Theory test before you start your driver training.
5. Once you have passed your Category C driving test you are able to start your Category C+E training should you wish. There is no further Theory test to take. The minimum time between passing your Category C driving test and starting your C+E training is about two weeks, just long enough for you to have your licence upgraded to a full Category C and have the provisional entitlement put on for the C+E by the DVLA.
