| You will need to pass the LGV theory
test which includes a Hazard perception test (all done at the same time on a
computer) before taking a Category C or C1 driving test. Do not worry if you
have little or no computer experience as full instructions are given before
taking the test, and the system has been designed to be used by people with
little or no computer experience.
The theory test is a multi choice style question paper made up of 35
questions. You will need to obtain 30 correct answers to pass. If
you have difficulty with reading, writing or can't speak English please don't
worry as arrangements can be made to help you or have the question paper in
your own language. Contact
us to see if the DSA have a question paper in your language.
You can take the theory test in a convenient locations for your around the
UK, normally in a town near you.
All tests are now same day result tests meaning you will be given the
result, normally within 5 minutes of finishing.
When attending the theory test you MUST take with you your provisional
LGV driving licence, if this is the new style photo licence then you must take
both parts i.e. the paper counterpart and the credit card photo part. If
this is not a photographic licence then you will also need to take a form of
photographic ID that is acceptable to the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).
If you are booking your course with us we can supply you with a Proof of
identity form free of charge.
Why not download an example DSA on line theory test, they have two mock
test you can do, but remember these are not the questions you will be asked on
the theory test!
